This. Done it for years as part of my regular work outs. Stretch brakes on longer rides. Fighting the stiffness of age is a big part of the battle.
And besides, it feels darn good.

I say don't do 1X but instead do a 2x 30/46 crank. Di2 is about the best shifting of any group and there's no reason not to take advantage of superior front shifting.
