700c, rim brake, 1" suspension forks are almost impossible to acquire. That frame was never intended to have suspension anyways. I'd keep it rigid.

Not sure what you mean by "adventure" bike. But it looks to be in decent shape. I'd start by cleaning out old grease, gunk, whatever is old and "built up". then regrease and relube all that needs it....
