Of course, if that's not allowed, we'll find out soon enough. :)

1. Cheapo "runner's" tights from scam-bay which go over my bibs, perfect for temps 40-60.
2. Thicker thermal tights from Performance which have a thin windproof coating, which are ideal for temps 25-40.
3. If under 25, I wear the thin runner's tights UNDER the thermal tights. That has me covered down to 10F which is as cold as it ever gets around here.

I have two sets of heavy, cycling specific, wind-front, tights, one for commuting (because they're baggy and say P (for Performance) on them) and one for the road (because they say "P" for some Shimano subsidiary). The Shimano P ones were very expensive, but are suprisingly good in the warmth, wind protection, and moisture handling categories. Interestingly, they have an odd smell, which has not gone away over the years.

I've had some closeout Rapha winter tights in my basket, but my newfound austerity (:p) has me hesitating on them. They're still spendy, even on sale. I still might do them, but I'm going to check out some options at REI, Sierra, etc, first. There are 4x of the Rapha available, so I can prolly take at least a few days to make the decision.

One banned member from here, threw that straight in the trash. When Tom was on there, he appreciated it because he could be himself, and not "admin". This certain member stated how displeased he was with BF, and how unfairly he thought he was treated, in a terrible way. He went way over the top on Tom. (I thought) Activity dropped quickly, after that.

Got it. Thanks for the clarity. The whole socialcyclists site was interesting while it lasted, but it did not seem to have enough traction to stay alive.

Whew, in-depth Joe Walsh discussions are safe.

Last April, my doc gave me 6 months to get my act together or start Metformin so my family doc wanted me to watch my sugars and starches. I also have radiation damage to my intestines and rear end, I'll spare you the details, but my gastro guy also started me on a special diet and it's been great for my gastro problems but the two diets don't always mesh well. Basically, I have a relatively sparse menu to choose from and I'm basically a vegi-turkian and even then, I have to avoid a lot of veggies and fruits.

Besides the 40#, my A1C has fallen a whole number to 5.6 since April. I see my doc tomorrow but she already called me last week to congratulate me with the results. I didn't tell her about the weight loss so maybe I'll get kudos and a lollipop tomorrow for that, too. :D

I've got some other relatively serious issues but I feel great at the moment and enjoy every day. :thumb:

Kudos. :bday:

Maybe someone could create a "B.F. After Dark" alternative website where we can cuss, get drunk, post pics of nekkid ladies, and say filthy stuff like "in before the lock".

We already have one of those but the very people who like to cuss are too appalled to use it.

Heh, I was not aware of that. But I can guess who the disgruntled vermin was who gave Tom grief. I never bothered to do more than poke my head in once in a blue moon over there, I was just glad we were rid of that vermin fellow. Good times.

I had to google that for the low-down. Funny how he got away with it back then.

To be frank, though, it's not like Addiction posts are coming in fast and furious and threatening to break the forum with their bulk. We could prolly keep this one alive for another quarter without things getting wonky.

Dunno, but red computers are the fastest.
