2003 Cannondale Team Frame

The Bicycle began early in 2004 as a cheap project as I got a deal on the frame from Ebay. Then I got other Ebay deals on 2003 Campagnolo Record components. Anyway it evolved into a not so cheap project, about $1400. The parts were all purchased from Ebay and came from NYC to California, Canada and UK.

- Seat: Selle Italia Flite Gel
- Seat Post: Carbon from a MASI
- Handelbar & Stem: 3TTT "THE"
- Brakes: Campagnolo Record
- Shifters: Shimano Bar-End
- Crank: Campagnolo Record 53X39
- Bottom Bracket: Campagnolo Chorus
- Pedals: Crank Brothers Candy SL (Gray)
- Front Hub: Campagnolo Record
- Rear Hub: Dura-Ace
- Front Derailleur: Campagnolo Record
- Rear Derailleur: Dura-Ace
- Cassette: Ultegra 9 12-27
- RIMS: Mavic Relflex Tubular
- Spokes: Wheelsmith XL14 Butted
- Tires: Continental Sprinter Tubular

Since the picture was taken I have changed the seat to a Selle Italia SLR and the Wheelset is now Mavic Cosmos(Black) with Michelin Pro Race Tires(Black)

Well, right now I have a Trek 1000 which is a GREAT bike to start out with. Next week or so my new 2005 Felt F15 should be arriving, along with the bill and divorce papers. ;)

Lots of fun building this up to where it's at today. Got a little carried away with the $$$ (moreso than I thought til I did the spreadsheet!) Oh well, I made a killer deal on the wheelset and made it all worth while. :D

MackDaddy: Take off those valve nuts and save at least another 2 grams. I am impressed that you accounted for the weight of lube and dust.

Seriously, though. Very handsome machine.

Reb Bull Pro SL 4000 from the German catalog house Roseversand.
Alu frame 55 cm black anodized, 2004 Dura Ace with 12-27 sprocket set (lots of 16%-to-18% grades here in my part of Germany), upgraded the wheels to Mavix Ksyrium Elite, Nokon cables, Conti Attack / Force tires. About 7.8 kg without pedals, computer, etc.

Other bike (no pic): Hercules with 27-speed Tiagra and no-name frame and components. It is now in the cellar for riding on the roller and will come out on winter rides when I don't want to get the "good" bike all salty and wet.

If me, not really. About a 5 month old Canon 10D 6.3M Digi-SLR. Takes great pics.

Thanks all! :)

Edit: Make that a year old Caonon 10D. I didn't realize I got it last summer, not this one!

No doubt. I've only logged ~ 100 miles on her over the course of the build. Today's small ride was really sweet.. the new 03 Mavic wheelset is just fantastic.

Thanks!

As of 5 hours ago I now have a DNA ti with chorus 10sp shifters, derailluers and brakes. Everything else is pretty much FSA. Just finished my first ride. Pretty high right now....

Jeesh, after reading through this thread and viewing the photos, I won't even try to keep up. However, my steed is a custom-built Litespeed Vortex. I don't have photos, but maybe I'll get around to posting its blueprints one day.

Specs? Campy Record, Wound-Up fork, old tubular rims, Conti Sprinter 250s, 73 degree parallel tubes, 40cm chainstays & 59.9cm front end (wheelbase = 99.4cm), 60cm seat tube, 57.5cm top tube, 18.5cm head tube. And, no decals or paint anywhere. (Both Litespeed and Wound-Up were nice enough to return favors and delivered everything plain-Jane.)

As you can see, they are a bit removed from stock Vortex specs, and might be considered closer to the Ultimate's specs--especially with the tight rear triangle and short wheelbase. However, those specs deliver exactly what I requested from Litespeed -- a quick-handling bike that is just short of twitchy. (But a ***** to ride with no hands in a crosswind.)

Nicknamed by others: "The Stealth Bike"
