What do you guys make of this front derailleur?

This came off a parts bike I bought; the frame was written-off in a front-end collision, so I got the whole thing for super cheap. The componentry is a real mish-mash, but most of it's high-end. The one piece that is something I've never seen before is this front mech:

You can't see it in these crappy iPhone pictures, but the black part has "Rino" engraved into it. I figured out via the search function that Rino and Excel are the same thing, and that Rino components were sold in North America as Excel. Beyond that, though, I'm clueless. There's no other markings on it anywhere; no part number, no date code, nothing. Any ideas?

Rino parts don't come up a lot as they are not that common on this side of the pond... they'd be a few steps down from Campy in the heirarchy and would have been found on entry to mid level bikes.

As an Italian company they'd probably sit along side Gipiemme in the food chain.

I have very little experience using Rino parts so would have to have someone else speak to that.

Here are two bikes fitted with Rino components. Both bikes are Cambio Rino.

The components on the 2000 (model # not vintage) are pretty much top of the line and comparable to Campy stuff in my opinion. The other Cambio Rino sports lesser Rino components but nice none the less. As mentioned be another Forum Member, the components can be of Gipiemme or Ofmaga quality. Except for the stuff on the 2000.

Hope this is a help.

Hmmm...so general consensus from the thread linked above is that they're middle-of-the-road Italian components. In that case...into the trade pile it goes!
