Favourite Brand Bib Shorts

For all of those out there. for those who use bib shorts
what brands do you like the best?

GlennR 07-21-20 01:34 PM

Segoi RS Pros. Just bought 2 new pairs since i'm riding almost everyday and only want to do 1-2 washes a week.

zatopek 07-21-20 01:42 PM

dhb - best bang for the buck!

Bah Humbug 07-21-20 01:43 PM

De Soto 400 Mile. I should buy more; I can never bring myself to throw a pair out. Even the pair that is seven years old is still comfortable for long rides.

shelbyfv 07-21-20 01:58 PM

Are you asking best for shaved or best for hairy? Surprised you didn't specify....

Germanrazor 07-21-20 02:58 PM

Quite often the cheapest. Maybe I am just tough and not whiny when it comes to bibs or shorts. I am sure Assos and other brands that are north of $100 a pair feel great.....but unless I try them, I don’t what I am missing and that means I have more money for ammo and guns for the coming collapse of society...LOL

In every movie depicting the collapse of society, everyone has guns and ammo, but no one has a decent pair of bib shorts. Good bib shorts will be worth a fortune when the **** hits the fan, so stock up on them now.

I like Santic brand from amazon.

jrobe 07-21-20 04:26 PM

Pearl Izumi Pro. I switched from Assos to Pearl Izumi Pro several years ago. They fit me better and last longer with daily use.

Absolutely! You know we'll all have to ride from our coast (whichever) to the other in search of that last surviving colony of congenials.

many here like Castelli Free Aero Race bibs, and buy a couple pairs whenever they go on sale(which hasn't happened since December:notamused:).

Ghazmh 07-21-20 06:29 PM

Pearl Izumi PRO

Louis Garneau Fit Sensor 2's. Every other bib I've tried requires too much 'adjustment' during a ride, and with chamois cream I don't notice them even after a few hours in the saddle. I do have to buy new ones about once a year, though. They seem to stretch out and loosen up.

AdkMtnMonster 07-21-20 07:28 PM

Assos or stay home.

jimmyodonnell 07-21-20 07:29 PM

Assos for me. They are pricey but I've had no regrets about the spend, I really like them.
And they do go on sale pricing, with good discounts.

+1 for Castelli Free Aero Race bibs, won't wear anything else. I've done 8+ hours in them with no issues. Can usually find them around $100 on sale, def worth it.

not in the last few months, at least not in black/large.

mstateglfr 07-22-20 09:17 AM

Black Bibs Plus Tall.

Great leg band, comfortable pad, excellent elasticity and the straps are proper length for once.
I would try their Ultimate bibs if it came in tall.

nesdog 07-22-20 02:00 PM

Wore the Sugoi RS line for years but they seem to have changed something. Have now switched to Voler.

bruce19 07-23-20 08:04 AM

For me, after 35 yrs of experimentation, it's Assos. It may be different for you.

It sucks, I could use some new ones too, our new team kits are delayed due to covid (but they're gonna look awesome whenever they finally arrive!!).

JS41989 07-23-20 12:18 PM

I'd never used bib shorts before, so about a week ago I ordered my first pair. I went with some Assos Mille GT's and they're very comfortable. Would recommend.

sarhog 07-28-20 02:42 PM

My favorite is RedWhite long distance bib shorts.

I recently bought a pair of Black Bibs plus, but they’re not nearly as comfortable as RedWhite. They are cheaper though.

David in Maine 07-28-20 02:59 PM

Rapha. Don't hate me!

David

mattcalifornia 07-28-20 04:40 PM

I haven't tried tons of brands/models, but my two favorites so far are the Rapha pro team training bibs and the Giordana FR-C. It's all trial and error though. They have to be the right size and fit for your body (and your saddle probably too), so what's good for me might be awful for you.
