Hello from San Jose!
 
Having just moved from San Diego, I'm looking to get into mountain biking. Not that I couldn't do it there, but I need to replace all the beach time with something else.

Welcome! There's another newbie from SanJo that just introduced themselves the other day.
You're gonna love our mtb trails here. So so many. When you have a chance to visit the birthplace of mountain bikes in Marin, go visit the bike museum there too.
