Where to mount magicshine battery?

I just bought a magicshine since it's starting to get dark earlier. Man, this thing's bright.. the problem i'm having now is there's nowhere to mount the battery on my roadie. My friend mounts his under the stem, but the velcro doesn't reach around far enough to clasp on mine. (fat stem i guess) I have cross brake levers, so I can't mount it on the bar. My top tube has exposed cables, so can't mount it there.. I can't really think of anywhere else..

where do you guys put yours?

Stem, and top tube, depending on the bike. It's okay to wrap the strap around the cable housing. If necessary, you can slip it under exposed cable.

Mine lives in the handlebar bag.

If you ran with panniers, an extension cable would allow you to put it back there. Alternatively, why not just get some longer velcro straps?

I got the extension cable and mount it where the seat stays come together. perfect cradle

threadless steerer? Paul's Comp. has a alternate stem cap made to use handlebar lights upon it.

I put mine inside a waterbottle and threw it in the cage. Its waterproof and it blends in nicely.

Sweet! This is probably the best I've seen so far! Now, do I want to give up a bottle, or look for P-clamps? Hmmmm....

I use a bento box on the top tube.

If the velcro is too short why not just use an old toe strap? Thats what I did on my commuter.

I mount mine in the water bottle as well. My Vaya has three bottle racks. :thumb:

Thanks dudes. I figured out a way to put the velcro strap through the battery loops to make it long enough to fit around my stem. It's not the way it's designed to attach, but it works.

I like the bottle idea, but I drink a lot of water when I ride, so that wouldn't really work for me..
