Buying a new 2017 carbon hardtail, good or bad?

I've been on the hunt for a new mtb and after test riding a crap load of hardtail and FS bikes finally decided I want a hardtail. I found a leftover 2017 Specialized Epic Comp World Cup Carbon hardtail that fits me perfect, looks good, and I really enjoyed the test ride today. Downside is its 11 speed and a 2017 model. Upside is that its light, the bike weighs just under 24lbs on their in house scale even with a Reba fork, heavy Roval wheels, and Sram GX 11 so there's room to trim the fat later on. Its also a bargain at $1,900 compared to a 2019 model at $2,800. Only thought that has me second guessing the purchase is the fact that its 2 years old but its new, any thoughts on this?

I like the way you think! I couldn't stop thinking about that bike last night.

Offer $1700 and see if they'll take it. Maybe they'll come down $100 or throw in some goodies.

This is not a downside to this bike.
