Bikepacking vs Bike Touring - Differences & how to get started

Hey folks. This is a good video on bikepacking vs bike touring and how to get started. I know for one it was tough for me in deciding on what proper gear and bike to use. I mean sure, you can use any bike generally speaking but there is "The right tool for the job" bikes & setups that can save you from a whole world of hurt and failure when it comes to being out on the road. Planning is essential, so I hope this video can offer value to those who are just getting started.

Bike packing is for hipsters and bike touring is for geezers.

This

Right off the bat I'm expecting a picture of a 29' mt. bike. rigid fork thing with big h-bar bag, frame bag and big seat bag, vs. a Trek 520 type drop-bar bike with racks and panniers - the good old traditional touring setup. I lost interest when I saw the photo.

well New York dude, you've done a bunch of neat trips over the last few years, fun to see clips of the various places again.
Most importantly, I wish you the best of being uber careful in these times, given that you are in NY
