Are the rims and hubs built or do I have to build them?

ThermionicScott 12-31-17 04:30 PM

Ooh, that crank has the elusive 40T BioPace ring on it.

They are built. I'll put a picture up soon.

I can't believe this isn't gone.

Flog00 01-03-18 06:33 PM

It's low end stuff I guess.
The levers are comfy, wheels solid but heavy, everything else just basic and boring lol.
Probably drop it at the co-op.
It'll make someone a good solid rider.

rccardr 01-03-18 08:35 PM

Hey, Hey, Hey!!!

If you can't sell it as a group, I'll buy the shifters. Light Action 7 speed DT shifters are the bang.
I'd take the brake levers, too.

...

They are. Absolutely no mistaking when shifting up or down a click. The opposite of Campy Synchro.

texaspandj 01-04-18 07:34 AM

If you can't sell group I'd be interested in the Bio-pace chain rings, my left knee needs it.

top506 01-04-18 10:33 AM

Damn! @texaspandj beat me to it. Always looking for that 130/40.

Maybe not the most lightweight or blingy, but I have a fondness for the entry-level Shimano groups of this era. Good stuff like slant-parallelogram RDs, indexing, cassette hubs, and Hyperglide (dual-pivot brakes a couple years later) didn't take long to trickle down to the bottom, but the low-end groups were not cheap-feeling to use (yet.)

Flog00 01-04-18 11:38 AM

I thought 150 for basically enough to build up a frame would last only hours lol

top506 01-04-18 12:21 PM

A month ago I'd have been all over it. A month from now and I'd be all over it. just bad timing for me.

I too like this group. If I had it I would need to purchase another 63 cm frame. Which I promised someone I wouldn't do but I could have it shipped to work!

Let me check it over.
Probably 50 bucks.
I'll send some pics.

deephate 01-04-18 02:22 PM

Black is my favorite non-color.

There's that green Schwinn.... :)

deephate 01-11-18 12:24 PM

I did look at that. I have a problem with wanting every tall frame I see.
