Post yer Bents - 2018

This thread is good for a year, just to keep things fresh. The old thread has way too many dead links. Update your image-hosting site and let's see them!

I'm bent scarce at the moment. Down to a 2017 ICE VTX and a 2012 Bachetta CA2.

My Challenge Fujin SLII, no longer sporting the open cockpit bars, but now with a tiller setup.

Still doing some adjusting as I ride. My elbows hurt after longer rides with this. so gotta figure that out out.

Cool. I owned two of those machines and loved them both. I did break the first one :innocent: but the old Challenge company replaced it under warranty.

Cool, Friday! That's the first pic I saw of it, I think. That tiller looks pretty long...

We're slowly getting pics added here. I'm waiting until I can get some new pics. Right now if I tried to put my bikes in the yard for a picture, they'd be half-buried in white stuff.

What happened to your Catrike Speed. I thought you were a hardcore Speed guy.

I am but I sold my '06 to a friend who wanted it. It was sweet, too. Carbon cranks, brake levers, and shifters. Generally stripped but I did own a rear fender for Winter.

Won’t be my last. :thumb:

The bars are set on 3 stackable spacers, I was wondering if I could remove one spacer, it does seem a little "high" and back?

BlazingPedals 02-13-18 11:41 AM

Generally, spacers are there to make the stem come out at the right height so the top cap can tighten everything. You can take them off the bottom and put them above the stem, or you can remove them and shorten the steerer by that amount. Some folding stems might not like having spacers on top of them, making the cutting of the steerer the only way to lower them.

Warm February day but rainstorming this evening. Thus, garage pictures of current bikes. Outdoor pictures when weather cooperates.
Finished moving parts from steel V3 back to V-Rex to make it this year's commuter bike. Hadn't ridden the Rex for about 13 months until earlier this evening before the rains. Very nice! Enjoyed long wheelbase commuting in some ways but the Rex is at least five pounds lighter. And more nimble. Will be ten years old this summer. Don't really plan on riding the steel V3 any more. Frame may end up for sale on BROL at some point. The titanium V3, on the other hand, is with me for good. Will post Screamer pics when weather cooperates.

What brand/model is the upper bike? Looks neat!
The last bike: did you build that or is that a production model, as well?

The top bike is a Actionbent. I'm not sure of the model. The ride-along is a Weehoo.
The velomobile is a Cab-bike. It was a German brand that was also license made in the US. A variant is now made in Poland and is called a Hawk.

Here is my rather grotty Rotator, now 18 yrs old. Rebuilt the seat by drilling out the old grommets and adding
new ones a few years ago and added Di2 10spd to the rear derailler which massively improved shifting there.
The mid drive RD will have to wait, as best I can determine Shimano can't handle two RDs with one control
box, so would need second control box and battery. Present cable shift works ok, though it is surprising in a
way that the DA 9spd RD on the mid-drive can handle that 34t cog as it does. I do have a spare 10spd
Di2 RD. It is nice to have the Di2 display indicating the RD gear on each shift. Bike is now at 27,300 miles.

Here's my wife, JoLynn's "new to her" Terra Trike Cruiser! As you can see by the SMILE, she's really liking a recumbent trike! :) Yes, it's used and yes it's got a Yellow Boom, she needed a "Extra Small Boom" Terra Trike only had 1 left from a Tour model so that's what she got. Nice thing is the decals on the blue body are yellow so it's not totally strange looking and she will ALWAYS know her trike in a crowd! ;)

Dirt road bent project. The builder's partner rode this from Peking to Paris. Rides quite nicely on gravel roads and easy entry level singletrack.
