We have decided that flat bar road bikes are infact road bikes, and not hybrids - so we are driving them all away :)

Encroachment upon the 41 is quite seriously frowned upon! :(

There are very hard and steadfast rules as to just what differentiates a genuine road bike from that of degenerate variant, called a "hybrid"...

Anyone can put together a combination grossly inappropriate for the task at hand, and make himself unique because no one else is stupid enough to choose the completely wrong tool.

Most of us learned in high school that acting out, simply for the sake of being unique was not terribly bright.

Some of us actually ride a road bike as it was intended. I suffer in the drops enough to be offended by your self righteous statement.

Please mods move this over to the HYBRID forum. Clearly I was wrong to think they were road bikes.

I've IM'ed a Mod to have it moved out. I initially didn't think it was going to receive negative resonses.

Has it been proving that flat bars are inherently less aero? At the same height, and the same width.

Doubt it - if anything it's easier to crouch down with palms facing down.

are you graemme obree? when flat bars are aero, they are not comfortable or easy to control the bike with

Looks like it has risers rather than flat bars.

I'm pretty sure if that were true we would be seeing some flat bars in the pro peloton.

I guess that if your aero bars are the same height and width as the flats on my road bike there would be no difference in that one position. However, when in that position I am much less aero than in the hoods or the drops.
