What happened to the look?
Yesterday I logged in to a new - and frankly boring - look to Bike Forums. Is there any way to go back to the classic view? My subscription is up-to-date, and I'm not seeing ads, so this appears to be something that was planned? I waited a day to see if anyone else complained, but so far I haven't seen anything.
I like the old. If you can help me get it back, I'd be grateful :) DD |
Scroll to the very bottom and to the right there are different layouts to choose from. This one is Bikeforums NG.
|
Thank you Siu - I will check that out and report back.
...and it's working now. I was on the laptop, so the option ended up being Full Size or something like that, accessed from a menu that was in the upper left. For posterity, in case this ever happens to me again :) DD |
...but now I am having problems with attaching pics. Normally the dialogue box for posts has all the little icons to click on so I can load up photos. As of yesterday, it's just a box. If I Go Advanced, I still don't get the icons - the only way I can add pics is to go to Manage Attachments and do it the long way.
Any ideas? My subscription is still current, so I don't know why this changed on me. I'm trying to link pics from my Flickr account. DD |
When you click the photos icon a window opens and you can upload from a URL or your device. You can add images using the menu at the top of the window before inserting them or do it sequentially to position them where you need them.

Should be right above the text box. What style are you using, the old one or the new BikeforumsNG? Everything is updated on NG.

It was okay up until about 3/4 days ago. I dunno what's changed or why. I've logged out and back in and the problem persists. DD |

I'm using BikeforumsNG according to the first snip. The second one is how the bottom of a page looks to me when it comes response options. In order to post these two attachments I had to Go Advanced, then access Manage Attachments and attach the images directly from my computer. Normally the icon for a pic would allow me to access my online storage. I have no way to add a link. Well, I don't know another way, that is :) But the loss of functionality is a bit frustrating.

Can you show me a screen shot of the text window right below this post?

Should look like this. Do you have the square icon to the left of the smiley? |
To the left of the smiley, the square icon is what you use to upload a pic.

Here's what it looks like at the bottom of the screen. Completely different from what your screenshot looks like. And again, up until a few days ago, mine looked very much like yours (I don't recall seeing the large green bar for the mobile site, however) and all the icons were there. But now? Nothing.

Possible you're running an ad blocker? If so... turn it off.
Nobody else has ever seen this issue? This functionality loss is really going to cramp my style. DD |
No other suggestions? I'm still having this issue.
