Folding trailer - kickstarter

I just saw this and was kind of intrigued. I use a Burley Travoy frequently, but the idea of being able to ride without towing to a store and just deploying for the ride back seems kind of cool. It also fits folding bikes (which mine are). I'm sure there are flaws and reasons this is a bad idea, lol, so please chime in.

It's neat... but is it $700 neat?

I've grown increasingly wary of Kickstarter-- I've backed a handful of projects, and the "delivery on promises"has consistently fallen short. I have a threshold at which I'm okay with risking money without promise of return. And a $600-700 folding trailer is WAY above that limit.

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting backing it necessarily, just interested in the concept. Didn't see like it would be that difficult to build one.

It is just a copy of one of my old products, I made a couple of hundred over an eight year period and dropped it last year because of low sales.
The same thing happened with the version made in the USA by the now defunct Crosstown bicycle trailers.

Carry Freedom City trailers fold flat within their frame , another limited run .

I bought one. the dealer in the US balked at the minimum reorder restock required ,

so production ended, or never restarted .. by the Taiwan Company making them ..

Interesting trailer. I like to see things happen in the cycling world, not much I don't like but lots of stuff that's not for me. I guess if you think in terms of fishing, gear only needs to catch the fisherman, not really fish, and it's done it's job " catching". The $700 range seems real high. Not really sure how pricing goods works. So often it seems crazy high. Also seems like a lot to always carry on a bike. I generally know if I need to be prepared to carry something and will hook up the bob or something else if the bob cant handle it. Theres always more to moving stuff than just a trailer, like a bag or something to contain things and also ways to ties things down. Things never seem to be a nice easy shape or weight to move around. Odd shapes and high centers of gravity seem to always play a factor for me.

This trailer me think of what happened at the nahbs this year....
