SRAM Patent for Compact Motor-Battery

SRAM has initiated a patent for a compact motor & battery / unit that appears lightweight with the weight centered and low. See electrobike.com for details. This would be great if it was applicable to DIY, but probably is headed in the OEM direction.

Here you go. SRAM patent,

I count 28 cell holes, enough for a 52V7AH battery using 18650 or a 48V7AH if they leve two holes empty,

A 26 cell 18650 actually takes up a lot of room. The motor module could be pretty bulky,

I count 30, which (to me) makes sense for a 3 parallel X 10 series (35V) system. I would think the system could be about 10 pounds.

Nifty. Be interested to see some frames designed around it.

My TQ motor and battery combine for 8.1 pounds/3,680g and I'd imagine this integrated take might be in the same ballpark.
