Loose gravel bites
so I’m going down hill on horse trail after uphill climb, I reach down with right hand to unlock rear shock and hit some loose gravel. I was going about 15 mph just beginning down hill. Wheel turns to the side and over I go. Ending up legs up against horse trail fence. Luckily guy with me is fast, he finished the ride to get truck and I go to er. Guess I’m not hitting my Strava goals this year. one plate and 10 screws in left shoulder. This summer is gonna suck.https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...8caf9f1cb.jpeg
Don’t adjust shocks when riding |
Ouch. Will that stuff come out? Those bottom 2 or 3 screws look a bit too long. (Mine in my ankle don't go all the way through.)
By the way, did it hurt? (Had to say something humerus.) |
That looks tuff. Usually doesn't hurt right away.
I just leave the shocks unlocked all the time. God speed to you on the mend. Usually I am by myself while riding.......makes me think I should start looking for friends.....or get one of those Life Alert things..... HELP, I'VE FALLEN AND CAN'T GET UP.... (Sorry, I couldn't resist) Added: I can't tell from you post.... did you HighSide and slam your shoulder? |
Well, Looks like you've cured any titanium deficiency!

Good work. I've always believed a man without scars is a sad, sorry animal.
Just broke my femur a year and a half ago, preparing for BWR. Snapped the ball off the bone right before it joints into the hip. Good times. Beer has silicone and is therefore good for healing bones. Also eating fresh (not canned) pineapple is good for it. Caffeine (especially coffee and soda drinks) are decidedly bad for healing bones. Only be about a month and a half. Read a book, learn a language, and keep them positive healing thoughts. Hang in there. |
Broke my left femur three years ago not cycling, merely trying to take a photograph during a storm. My X-Ray looks similar. All the hardware is still in place. The surgeon said if it caused any post-recovery issues, removal is "easy," yeah, right! Never did get the picture either. :(
