I did 35 minutes out, 40 minutes back on cinder and gravel. This is a big deal for me after my knee replacement revision in Sept. Felt great, sunshine on my back.

Going to a soccer match with my son on Wednesday and my daughter's buying me an Italian wine. All in.

Got some sunshine today in Boulder with my 3 year old and his strider! Thinking he might be ready for pedals...

Happy Father’s Day gentlemen! I spent a few hours walking around Teatown Nature Preserve spotting frogs, snapping turtles, a water snake and a variety of birds with my two little ones and wife. Exactly the sort of day we enjoyed with my father.

Spent a wonderful morning with my son and their 15-month-old daughter. After breakfast, entertained her by supervising -- very carefully!! -- her rapidly developing ability to crawl up stairs. She is already determined that she wants to "walk" down facing forward, which she can't do of course yet without holding on to me with two hands while I'm kneeling in front of her so she can't pitch forward down the stairs when she loses her balance. (Important preparatory skill for learning to ride a bicycle, you see...) Thus tired out, she promptly went down for her nap, at which point I commenced the day's bicycle-related content. I made some modifications to the rear rack I had installed on my son's commuter bike a couple of weeks ago. (He works with data, not with tools, and besides, what are Dads for?) Armed now with more tools and parts than I had brought to the first house call, Mrs. C and I installed a seatpost collar with ears to fit the longer rack stays I had scrounged and a few other bits of scraps from the parts drawers to make the thing fit on the kind-of-weird dropout eyelets. So now the rack sits level, doesn't need P-clamps, doesn't foul the cable noodle of the rear V-brake, and keeps his pannier bag clear of his heel. And yes, the seatpost came right out. (Which at least one of you knows makes it a good day right off the bat, right? And it was. A really great day.)

I have a son who has made me proud and who is a wonderful father himself.

My kids have all flown the nest long ago. Still, gives me great places to go riding - most recently the UAE! And it’s great to get the warm wishes from far away and remember the times that were and look forward to the time yet to be!

I'm fortunate enough to have these four wonderful humans to be Father and Dad to - 2 stepsons and 2 from my first marriage. They are all local, and being busy young men and women in the big city I get multiple days to celebrate with them. Friday was with the two youngest guys on the Upper West Side. Today with the oldest, his mom and I enjoyed brunch al fresco in Greenwich Village. Next Saturday my daughter and her boyfriend will come by for a dining location TBD. Riding was done was yesterday - a great weekend!

Wishing you all a fine Father's day!

Daughter Shay and I rode to a downtown cafe and met "Nikia. I'd say it was a good day to be a father, again!

Happy Papa day, all.

No one on the course today so I just blasted a few bucket of balls.

Also got in a leisurely ride on the '65 Sears (Steyr of Austria). Exercised the original tubes and Semperit tires, dyno with lights, speedometer.

After playtime, worked up an appetite and we did the BBQ.

My 30yo son rode with me (first time in many years) on Sat.
He’s used to be good at mtbing but that slipped thru much of his 20s.

First time i’ve been knowingly Strava’d.
17.8 miles, 15.6 avg, 800’ el gain
I rode the tandem as a single to handicap the beginner! 45+lbs.

The last 2 miles on the run-in I let him go, otherwise I was at least on equal footing. He was riding a 20# bike with tubular 24mm.

Just near our start point. A paved ride through a forest. As a single = makes it a good leg workout

been an interesting Father's day. My son made coffee (he is 21 and home for part of the summer from college), then across the street for espresso, where he played/observed my neighbor's 7 and 2 year old..... Son's comment.....this is what being a dad is like? after the 2 year got into Poop-do (grab a fresh dog turd and squeeze) for a second time and then both of them started on the drumset

LOL, yes said both dads

30 minutes later I get the question: Can we do a BBQ Monday for a touring reggae band I am making a video for?

He gets mom approval, I work on yard and house rest of the day (part of mom approval ;) )

So maybe I end of with an acoustic set in the backyard by "Roots of a Rebellion", kid has memory and he is working on his goal of making music videos.

(and we went to a football field and threw for a bit)

life is good, now if I could only get him into riding a road bike with gears

I shared a meal w my kids & my daughter made key lime pie (my favorite) from scratch. the day before I spent some time w my 92 yr old Dad in the woods looking for black birch for walking sticks. we wound up with some stout maple instead, then got some lunch together. he got to use some new hiking boots

As the father of two sons, the elder of whom is now also the father of two sons, I really enjoyed this thread. Both boys were out of town on Fathers Day, so we'll catch up next week. Grandsons' "guilty look" picture, shot by my daughter-in-law about a year ago, attached.

Greg & John,
I know that I don't need to tell you this but cherish these times...the clock will speed up much faster as they get older, and before you know it........
I wish I had a time machine.
My best to you and your families, Ben

Belated greetings to all!
Had a great day yesterday with the other fathers in our family. Then my daughter left for Seattle to start her third year of Summer internship at Amazon HQ. :(

Ah, so now I know who I can write to when my stuff is late. Clear your email bub. jk.

My complex is having their Father's Day concert tomorrow afternoon, so its not over yet. From what I hear the singer used to be quite the crooner. Maybe I can test my recorder with a song or two.
