Whats the advantage of the trailer? Seems like hard work to tow to me.

Most trailers can carry 2 kids, and there's also room for cargo, and protection from elements. None of that with a on-bike kid seat.

New addition to the fleet now that my oldest can ride a bike on her own. And now she can join me on some longer rides without having to ride in a trailer. First outing to the local park.

I've also (unfortunately) demonstrated another benefit of trailers. The bike can fall over and the trailer will stay upright.

So far I've been lucky, Only easy trails with the little cargo on the back. But as you can see, the wife comes biking with me this way.
Oh and yes, her feet get strapped in while riding.

Well it's not a family pic but it is a trailer pic. I committed a major sin today lol. I normally haul the trailer with my MTB set up for road use. But it wasn't set up today so I *gasp* hooked it up to my road bike to make a quick Target run. :P

We just got a great bike trailer for my special needs son so he can join us on rides. As you can tell from his thumbs-up in the picture, he really loves it too! What I really like about this trailer too, is that it can convert to a regular stroller or a jogging stroller. There is a nice deep storage area in the back so I can take all the wheels with and it's a fast change between them. I really think this will help us to become less car dependent now!

Wow looks super comfy! Not sure how comfy my son's InStep trailer is, especially since I had to replace the lower seat strap with a piece of aluminum angle, but he seems to still enjoy it. Our dog Howard is usually deathly afraid of my son, but in the trailer they snuggle up together. :P

My son does seem to be quite comfy in his and I doubt he'll ever out grow it (he's 13). So long as your son is having fun, I think that's the most important!

Trying out the Trail-a-bike with my son. He has a bit of growing to do before he will fit it, so we were limited to just a few circles around in front of the house. Unfortunately his dad is 5'6" and mom is 4'11", so he may be 14 before he fits the bike. Until then he is limited to his trailer that is falling apart from way too many rides. I already had to replace the bottom with plywood and use a small pillow under the seat since the under seat strap broke.

This is my first post in about 4 years. Kinda just got back into riding recently, but got the whole family involved this time around.
Wife on her Trek pulling the In-Step with the two youngest, and my Trek pulling our oldest on her Walmart bike with the Trailgator.

Instep trailer? Strap under mine broke, too. I got a piece of angle aluminum and worked it up to span across the frame, and then put screws through the seat lower strap into that angle. I drilled holes in the frame and secure the angle with hitch pins and cotter pins, since it has to move down under the frame in order for it to fold up again.

The hitch showed up yesterday so go it hooked up. Takes some getting used to.. the boy is wiggly to say the least!

Got out for a 10km with my boy (7) on the weekend. He was rocking his new mountain bike while I rode my fatty. It was sunny but chilly (around -10C). We stopped for some hot chocolate I'd brought in a thermos & he raised his cup & said "Man I love biking, here's to more days like today, Dad!". It was pretty awesome!

Put the 3 year old on the trail a bike. Was really felt left out before. The 6 year old turning 7 I figured could ride easily on his bike alone. Did 5 miles today and they did great. Just based on how much energy they had when we got home probably could doubled it!
