A first for me.
Finally started on a Moto Grand Record that's been in the queue for awhile. Working on the components I got around to the handlebar, pulled the cloth tape, bar plugs and levers off and was getting ready to soak it in solvent to loosen the glue when I noticed an object down the tube, something off the bar plug I thought. Fished it out - no, it's not from the bar plug. I've found assorted loose hardware floating around in frames and once a bunch of dead wasps in the bottom bracket shell. But this is a new one on me - at least it appears unused (I hope). The tape and plugs looked original but maybe not so possibly someone re-taping the bars did this as a private joke or in case he/she got lucky on the road. Or maybe it's a good luck talisman, no clue. But no doubt it's been in there a long time.

Someone Has To Say It?
Is it French fit?
(Ride Safe!) |
Well, it's not a tickler.

Wishful thinking or delusions of grandeur? :roflmao2:
|
"ride safe"?

-----
I was thinking it was going to turn out to be a St. Christopher medal or perhaps the emergency dime riders used to affix to their mounts back in the epochs prior to cell phones (and when you could make a public phone call for ten cents!). Gives proof to the female belief that men are always ready to go at the drop of a hat, or other garment... ----- |
Maybe the bike's owner was hiding the item from his mother.
My father said that in his day, it was worse to be caught with an incomplete pack of condoms than a complete one. |

Sure beats having to explain the imprint and discoloration from the hopeful storage of said article, in a young lad's leather wallet, to his mom, back in the day.
Bill Disclaimer: never was in that fix myself, thankfully.:innocent: |
For when the saddle falls apart?

It's a tube patch. Come on now!
Let's hope there's no DNA on it. |

Let's hope there's no DNA on it. I will post a pic of the bike when I get it finished of course. |
I really like the idea of putting it back where you found it. Who knows, someone else may have as much fun with their discovery as you've had with yours!

C'mon now, guys, can't we all chip in, and put a FRESH condom in it's place? 😁😉

Get your minds out of gutter. It's a medical finger condom for putting the chain back on after a puncture
