Greetings, windershins. I'm also in Salem. I have a Nishiki Gran Turismo (I believe) that is currently on the back-burner for other projects. Welcome to BF!

Welcome windershins

hi and good luck on your retro project. I was telling a good friend the other day. There’s a lot of things you can do to your bike. But it really depends what you want to do with it.

Right now I'm trying to upgrade the bottom bracket crank assembly and then maybe better brakes..

Sounds like a solid plan. hows the weather been up there lately?

Welcome!

Often, the best brake upgrade to do on vintage bikes is to replace the pads with Kool Stop Continentals.

Are you restoring the hub or buying a completely new rear hub? I hear DT Swiss 240 are good hubs.
