Doing my part to prop up C&V values

Always wanted some pink steel so have long watched for a ~58cm '87 Schwinn Super Sport or the much harder to obtain 1985 Trek 770. Watched this Super Sport relist a few times on eBay and today I pulled the trigger. With shipping and taxes, I think it would have been a solid deal just two years ago but I'm probably in it a hundred too high in today's market. Oh well, it looks very clean and quite original so if it shows up looking like the pictures, I'm a happy man. :)

I'm glad you bought it. Saved me from buying it myself

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

I had one of those Trek 770's. Pink Bikes Rule!

And those black rims look great on it.

I have to admit, I’m still partly red-neckish in my thinking, about pink anything. 🙄 But I might be willing to rehabilitate myself, if a 770 came along cheap. 🤔😁😉

You'll like the Super Sport, great ride. My only complaint is that I had to remove the reflectors to get 700x25s in there. I see they've been removed from your example as well.

Looks like your patience has been rewarded. She's a beauty!

Looks nice. Not quite in the same league as a Trek 770, but still quite rideable.

That's a whole lotta 'barely ridden' on that Super Sport! Looks great. Rims, unscratched seemingly, really play off the paint job.

Nice color pink i have one but i call it radbery.

Bianchigirll 01-19-20 11:18 AM

That is fabulous. The rims look like they have zero wear. Does it still have those 700x20 Technova tires everyone was using for OEM back then?

I won't lie, I dig bubblegum metallic and also rose colored bikes, only slightly less than I covet electric lime and hot orange metallic bikes.

I'd been eyeballing this one through 6-8 listings now, and I'm still shocked it never sold, aside from the potato quality pics, because it's such a tiny investment. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Cool-Vintag...e/193292710295

Looks like the seller won't be relisting again. I think they had it setup to auto-relist for $3 less each round. I posted about it a month or two ago in the CL thread.

Anyway, nice score!
