Faux Leather Handlebar Tape?

Hi I was just wondering if anyone knew where to find handlebar tape similar whats on this bike? It's like that brown, shiny faux-leather stuff.

That's not fake leather. It's Brooks leather bar tape. You can get it from Wallingford Bike Parts.

Thanks...wow $50 to $80 for a roll. Are there any other options for brown handlebar tape (that would get close to matching a brooks b17 honey saddle?)

Check out Veloorange.com. I think the tape they sell is better looking, and a good match for Brooks honey saddles. Take a look at the stitched on elkhide. It's pretty cool. I'm riding it on a fixed gear, and people remark on it frequently. I've got some perfed wrap tape for a bike I'm waiting on as well.

I don't know if the color is right but you know you can get Faux Leather stearing wheel wrap and the Autoparts store for about 9 bucks a roll?

+1
Their Elkhide Sew-on tape looks like the lowest-priced options if money is an issue for the OP:

I just sold a new Brooks tape kit on eBay today. I bought it last year, planning to put it on my road bike, but became too fond of the plushness of Cinelli cork, and never used it.

Awesome. Thanks guys. That velo tape looks fantastic.

I suggest wrapping, with real leather, from the top of the bar down:

Panthers, that looks exceptional. If you don't mind my asking, where would one find such leather suitable for this?

From a leather steering wheel cover. Seriously. Cut at the seam where it's made into a circle, and then split lengthwise.

That's commercial Brook's leather handlebar-tape. Available many places - if you got the $$$. It's not cheap, unfortunately. It comes in black (shown), honey, dark-brown, and green(!).

Thanks, I may give this a shot, if not for the sheer cost difference. Maybe some shellac or weather proofing would help as well.
