Are Garmin and Wahoo Mounts Compatible?

Easy question, but I'm unsure just by looking at them. I only have a Wahoo Elemnt, but no Garmin. If I decided to get an Edge someday, would the mounts be interchangeable? They are expensive in my opinion.

I have an Element and had to buy an adapter so that I could use a Garmin mount. Got it from Shapeways.

Will fit with a little force, but 90˚ orientation difference.

OK for a ride or few, but ultimately you need the right one.

@Tom_T, I hope you got one of mine :thumb:
@NoControl There are a number of ways to mount a Wahoo on a Garmin Mount, some Garmin mounts (such as K-Edge) even have plastic inserts that can be replaced to convert from a Garmin compatible mount to a Wahoo compatible mount.

Mount fit

U can modify a garmin mount by slightly shaving two sides and the the Wahoo fits and can have the right orientation, check the Wahoo google group site for more detail

As a point of interest, Barfly mounts come with the parts to make it work with just about every GPS made today.

You can replace the KEdge insert. Just need the right disc in there orientated the right way. No need for entire new mounts.
