Anyone making dual fixed gear cogs?

Is anyone currently making and selling dual fixed gear cogs?

Surly made one called the Dingle, and Wabi also sold a dual cog at one point, but they are both discontinued.

If you don’t know what I’m referring to, here is an example of a Surly Dingle cog....

I had TiCycles make me an 1/8" 17-21 to create a mountain fixed 3-speed (46-any small cog down to 12, 42-17, 36-17 with an 1/8" triple up front. 3 separate chainlines. Works really well but took a great deal of planning, the double cog, custom chainring bolts and a fix-fix MIche hub respaced to a few mm's dish./ Also a short Phil Wood BB to bring the chainline in. I ran the third ring outside the normal outer. (Close to the crank but that didn't matter since I have no FD.

For the double sprocket, the 21 is flipped. This puts the chain very close to the spokes but since noting is moving with regard to its neibors, contact (within reason) doesn't matter. Likewise chainrings can be so close the chain hils its neighbor and gouges grooves with the pins, Once grooves are gouged, no more contact.

Fun project, And now a really good solid ride I can take into real hills as a 67 yo.

Would love to see a photo of that.

I have a dingle cog that I believe was mounted but can assure all that is completely un-used if you are interested PM and I am willing to work out a deal.

Though the TiCycles idea sounds pretty rad.

I have both a Surly Dingle cog in 17 -21 and a Maeda double freewheel in both 17-21 and 16-20
I have plans to change my 73 SuperCourse to a double dingle speed some day
Here it is as a dingle speed freewheel

I wish that Wabi still made theirs. I would love an affordable option for an upcoming build.

I'm looking for 17-19, but wow that is pricey.

I assume it is a supply and demand issue. Lack of demand means they no longer supply. If enough folks wanted them they'd be foolish not to continue offering them. Has anyone contacted them to inquire if they have any old stock? Sometimes manufacturers hold onto some stock in the event they have to replace due to warranty claims and such.

No such luck. Reached out to Wabi toTto inquire about availability. Their factory would only do large orders, and it would be more than they could sell reasonably. This is not an option anymore unfortunately.

Bummer. Hope you're able to find one in the used market or maybe someone is sitting on some NOS. The trouble is in the hunt I suppose.
