those glasses tho. it's not 2004 anymore Tejay!

another day, can't say that I was especially surprised to see Tejay fall so hard - he's just not on the level of the top guys, haven't ever seen anything from him to convince me that he can string together good days like the top GC guys can do.
what an intense stage. Valverde: solid, as usual he's the 3-4th best GC guy in the major tours (excluding Vuelta) Nibali: reports of his demise are exaggerated. Costa: One of the best 1 day racers of this generation. Alaphilippe: incredible talent, but still young - was in over his head today. Froome: he'll have a good Tour, form's just on the edge but not yet boiling Intxausti: Man, Movistar's tour domestique squad is going be rolling DEEP. Gallopin: what a young talent - but will he ever have any legit GC support? How long till another squad that needs a GC talent comes calling? (or, till Sky decides they need Yet More top-10-level-domestiques) |

That's a bit harsh on Tejay. I think he looks better than Froome. He just didn't have the firepower around him on BMC to control the race on such a hectic stage. As Americans we need Talansky riding domestique for Tejay and that'd be a great team to build around for Le Tour.

nibali!
love seeing all those big names in a break. |

Yes, that's my point. Need them on the same squad.
|
So .... Dan Holloway may not be "pro", but he's darn good at racing crits.
|
indeed.
i hope it really pisses off uhc! |
They'd have to show up first.
|
Also a really really good track guy.
Just trying to dispel the track is only for sprinters myth. |
diff class of rider, but Terpstra is great on the track, esp. in the 6-day events.
|
Tour de Suisse, it's still A Thing.
Nice finish from Sagan today. Surprised to see Cavendish sit up 300m before the sprint.. he was too far up with no team mates, but still. I guess when you're not 99% sure, you just don't go. Not trying = no losing? |

Holloway was wearing his Elite Amateur National Champ jersey last year at Thater while winning the 1-2 race (not the pro race which was won by some UHC guy)

when did he last do any of the 6-days or other track stuff in europe?
Alls I know is he's ranked as the #1 cat 1 in the nation for crit racing, and is the defending elite crit champ. And he regularly beats up on UHC with none or few team mates. And that I get to race him every now and then.. |

I've heard he isn't on a larger team due to some conflicts that he has with other people in the cycling community. True?
Local talk is that he can make more money on the NCC crit scene, rather than doing the mid-level stage races like Gila, Beuce, etc. |
just stopping in to say: Lawson Craddock
and Chad Haga. that is all. |

He is the best US track racer not named "Lea", but there not enough money to even get him to show up. He went to the Burnaby 4 this last winter w/ Duhring and had the whole thing under control, could have won by quite a bit more than they did. |
damn, bouhanni looked pretty solid in the French champs rr up until he got crashed out.. sounds like he's out if the tour, which really sucks.
with kittel out too, who will challenge cav? nobody. also, cool to see some unknowns win some national titles. |
