Any in Chicago?

Sorry if this has been asked before but are there any events in Chicago this summer? Thanks in advance

Hi there! There's a bike ride that starts a little north of Chicago in Gurnee called the CowaLUNGa Charity Bike Tour if you're interested! It's on August 3rd and has different ride options.

Despite its internationalrecognition as a crime capital, Chicago is a generallysafe city. This is because its present day bother spots, occupying a number of stretches on the South and West Sides, have a tendency to be isolated and far-removed from the tourist areas that are centred round the Loop and simply north of downtown.

Chicago - a great place to visit and ride!

It's curious to know what will happen this summer...

Have you tried just googling on "Chicago charity bike rides"? If you do so, you will find at least one that is taking reservations pretty soon.
Le Tour de Shore at BikeReg.com registration opening 2/7/21
cowaLUNGa was virtual in 2020 and hasn't posted any information about this year
Two rides are listed now but only one is near Chicago https://www.bikeride.com/events-loca...linois/#events You might check back on this one occasionally to see if more rides show up.
Busse Woods Night Ride at 12 miles this is not much of a challenge.
It's pretty questionable that any mass gathering like a charity bike ride will happen before we get more people vaccinated. Used to live and work n the Chicago suburbs so this question made me curious.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your point of view) there won't likely be any organized rides with more than 50 people in the state of Illinois until we reach Phase 5 of COVID re-opening, which is the final tier where we all have access to vaccines and everything else is fully open with no restrictions.

Our current mitigation tier limits outdoor gatherings to 25 people, which we just entered 6 days ago. The next step down will increase that number to a maximum of 50 people.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some summer and fall events to happen, but anyone signing up for anything prior to that should be fully aware of the possibility that it will become a "virtual" event.
