My wife the skeptic...
 

I got home from my ride on the rigid today and told my wife..."Wow, after a couple rides on the Heckler...that rigid is a rough ride." (obvious)

So she said (mind you, my wife isn't even a biker)..."So what is that bike good for now anyways?"

I 'bout pissed myself. She's totally right in the obvious sense, but I still love riding it and that's all that matters. Hard to explain to most of my friends, but rigid 26" is fun in a different way I guess. Though it's a smooth trail and rock ledge drop slayer...this one just happens to be extra unforgiving on baby-head chop.

Enjoy it while you can; my lumbar spine has said "HELL NO!" to hardtails & rigids. Not even a suss post can change that, I've TRIED.

A Komodo is a monster good bike anyway; too much to just say, "AH, I'll just sell it...."

The bike that re-ignited the passion for pedaling for me was a rigid, so I'm not the one to say shat about it.

I use a rigid 29er for road/gravel/bike path rides. It works great for that!

I get the same kind of feeling riding a rigid as I do riding one of my friends old beater cafe style motorcycles...it's technically inferior in every way to what I'm used to, but there's just something fun about knowing in your mind that, yeah, you did clear that because of your own skill, not the forgiveness of your bike's technology.

I found myself being grateful for my F/S this morning. But on some quick downhill cornering I caught myself saying, I learned how to this on my rigid. Body position, squeezing the seat between my legs, pushing the tires into the dirt. It all started on a rigid.
