Newbie to fatbikes with a question about PSI in tires for a clyde....
Hey everyone,
Today I took delivery of my KHS3000 fatbike with e assist. I weigh about 270lbs and am curious what psi you guys would suggest for me to start with. Currently am running tubes and 26x4.8 tires. Can you guys suggest on a starting point for riding hardpack/root filled singletrack? https://photos.smugmug.com/My-First-...IMG_1148-L.jpg |
Start at 10 psi. Adjust to have maybe 20% sag in the tires. I run 4 psi front and 8 psi rear in summer. 3/6 in winter at 175#
I have 4.8" tires |
Agreed. 10 psi is a good starting point, then adjust to your preference and terrain.
With your weight because not to go too low. I weigh 230 For me, hard pack can usually be a 10-12, large stones-8 psi and soft gravel/sand- 6 psi. I am running 4", so with 4.8", I guess you have a little more forgiveness |
Thanks guys. I'll start with 10 and go from there. Thanks again!
