Raleigh Superbe: replace seatpost clamp pinch bolt with quick-release?

Q: Would it be possible to replace the pinch bolt at the seatpost clamp of a Nottingham Raleigh ('74 Superbe) with a quick-release?

I'm still trying to figure out the best way for me (5'11") and my wife (5'6") to switch bikes, and we both like to ride this one, but carrying around a wrench (and Whitworth, at that!) seems like a drag.

It's worth a try. I have not tried this with any of my Sportses but it should be doable.

You Can use a quick release. I have replaced the bolt on a few of my bikes with quick releases with no problem.
This way we can easily make adjustments enroute.

Excellent! Can you share your techniques?

The seat post quick release skewer is similar to the original bolt, with a lever on one end so instead of a wrench you can use your hand to tighten. This is available at your
Local bike shop or at Amazon.com

...generally here, all the swaps go the other way, from QR to a nutted bolt because of the guys who steal the saddle and post. If your bike is rarely unattended or locked up, a QR works fine.
