Time spent on the three triathlon disciplines

On my bike ride today I was contemplating my time spent doing the three triathlon disciplines...in miles and meters. But then I wondered about the time spent at them. A different way to look at it. I'm 58 years old. In my life I have spent:

1172 hours swimming
4000 hours bicycling
6734 hours running

Total 11,906 hours (496 days)

I'm a triathlete, master of none. I just like biking the most.
I started training for triathlons in '85 but didn't race one til '86. From then til '93 it was almost full time training. I resumed training in the 2000s but not to the same time consuming level of my 20s. But hopefully within a year I'll be back to three sports a day (that's when my 4 year old daughter will be in school). As it is its two sports a day. M,W, F Bike and Swim. T, and Th running and weight training. Sat long run and Sun long bike. That's all I can do...for now.
I'm not sure how many hours I've logged but your numbers seem like a lot.

I'm good at math, but not so good at knowing much of anything about tri.......but it always has felt to me skewed towards the run being most important.

The distances seem to try to equalize the three. But, to me the math doesn't work out.

A strong cyclist bad runner is going to always come in second do a weak cyclist good runner.

The watts per mph on the bike leg with today's tech is just so good that people can get to decent bike speeds on piddly amounts of power. People averaging like 160w doing darn near 19 to 20mph on bike legs.

Maybe more equitable if the entire bike leg is into the wind or if the bike course is really really hilly.

At least then ain't nobody doing 20mph for the bike leg on like 160w in an illegal draft-fest.

I'm kind of interest in finding and trying out some gravel/trail duathlon or tri stuff. Make the bike about the fitness instead of the technology and wallet.
