Lugged Redline road bike?

This one has surfaced not too many miles from here. Does anyone know anything about these? I'm not finding anything via Google, nor on this site ...

...they were more a company that got started in BMX. I think they tried to expand into road bikes for a while, but it was only a for couple of years, then something happened to the company, and they dropped them. I don't know who made them for the Redline company, but one of the Taiwanese makers like Giant seems like a good bet. Google search for the company history, or ask someone in the BMX forum.

Is it under $100? Looks like it needs lots of elbow grease and maybe a chain. Does it fit? It has a Exage Sport group so that kind of puts it in the recreational category like a Bianchi Strada or Premio

Asking $75 but it will probably go for less - the hassle is driving over to look at it when the seller isn't interested in measuring it - hate to drive over to find it's too small. We'll see - maybe it could be next year's Clunker Challenge bike ...

Redline was into road bikes and cyclocross a number of years ago. They're part of the group that own Diamondback and Raleigh today. More recently, some or all of their frames have been made by Kinesis, but I don't know how far back that relationship goes.

I would say late 80's Tawain built considering condition price is about right if it has no major issues. As for size hard to tell from one pic looks to be 54 or 56cm with a fairly short wheelbase so it's in the small range size wise.

When I owned a Redline TX Cross bike I was curious about the manufacturer and tubing, and with scant information on the Intertubes, I contacted the company, eventually connecting with someone from that time period when Redline had a line of road bikes. He wrote me that Redline contracted out the builds to Shogun. I suspect a serial number would confirm this, as mine did.

Try to get it for $50.

Too small for me, but perhaps my 13-year-old son can ride it in another year .... I’ll let y’all know if I get it and post details. I’m sure T-mar’s serial number work will reveal much! Thanks for the helpful info!

I own a 2008 Redline Monocog 29er and love it. Great frame.
