shut up.....surly you jest sir??

LOL. Guess I’m too old school and married.

Had an in-law who cheated on their spouse with someone they met in a cycling group. When sweaty spandex people get together to breathe hard, things just happen.

Stop calling me Surly. I have a Soma. It is a long saga.

With the special upgrade membership fee, you can get the stalker's option.

I keep getting strangers giving me kudos....
creepy not sure what to do.
sadly all dudes , not that I'm dating 39yrs married but thought why not strava hook ups as an option for singles.

Darth Lefty 07-07-20 05:25 PM

I’ve started getting some of that from Fitbit, which I haven’t used in a while. Obviously scam...

online for hook ups seems it is an invitation for trouble. Too many times I've read/heard & had to deal with friends that found themselves in a predicament. If it's your "thang", you be you & do your "thang" .

Cyclist0108 07-07-20 05:34 PM

Ewww.

Tom Lehrer was right.

Hikebikerun 07-07-20 07:42 PM

All trolling aside honestly I don’t see the issue with this.... obviously there is a difference between stalking and using the app to join clubs/communities and meet people in person.

I joined a hiking group on Meetup 3 years ago to meet people (not necessarily romantically; just to meet like minded people who enjoyed the same outdoor activities as me), and ended up meeting my significant other on a meetup. We’ve been together 2 1/2 years now.

There is nothing wrong with leveraging technology to locate other people, romantic or otherwise, that you might want to develop relationships with.

Just don’t be a sicko. Same rules of normal human engagement.

Outrider1 07-07-20 07:47 PM

There's a convenient bench in the middle of nowhere on one of my MUPs. Why not just hang out there. LOL

Troul 07-07-20 07:57 PM

There's the unisex restroom too..

Wildwood 07-07-20 08:44 PM

Large tandem club.
As a single.
Where you can sweat together in unison - and close proximity.

edit: used tandems can be purchased affordably.

I imagine dating apps took a serious hit in the last 4 months due to so many places being shut down.
Strava as a dating app?...I guess why not...its apparently struggling to generate money as a cycling social app so take that to another level. Make it a jack of all trades master of none sort of app that will disappoint and frustrate everyone in some way.

REDMASTA 07-08-20 01:09 PM

oh lard we don't need strava run over by simps.

Including flybys.

ZHVelo 07-08-20 11:58 PM

I assume you mean add an option for people who want this and others who checked the dating box can see that you also checked it?

Otherwise it would just be creepy af.

Just sounds creepy.
"Hey, I passed you on the trail today, thought you were pretty, and found you by using View Flybys, Wanna hook up?"

Troul 07-09-20 07:42 AM

^ or: "I noticed as I was drafting you that you have a nice rear, wanna rub tires later?"

eyemkeith 07-09-20 08:00 AM

Is it any great wonder more women aren't into cycling? Jesus, just let them ride.
