Need advice with shipping bike ahead

OK so I was all set to go on tour here in a couple of weeks. Airfare, return train trip all paid. Well my 93 yo mom just had a fall. She fractured yet another vertebrae.

So far she is fine (other than the fracture of course). In some pain but is doing excellent so far. Good news is she has an enormous support system here with her church and my brother might also come to visit for a few days.

Trying to figure if I should still ship the bike and have them build at the last minute. That way if I need to cancel, last minute I just pay to ship back. Or fly with.

Thoughts?

I am sort of leaning toward gambling and sending it ahead. Talk to them explain my situation and maybe they can help me out by building the day before.

LBS on the Coast does the builds so cycle tourists can be less burdened through airports and bus lines..

they need a week in lead time..

You can mark the carton 'do not assemble' and do it yourself, when you get there ..

That is another idea. They already have me on the schedule it is coming.
