Gloves that BREATHE?
Right now I ride with a pair of Pearl Izumi Attack gloves because they are cheap. But they're on their last leg and I imagine they'll fall apart any day, now.
I wear gloves for three reasons: To keep my sweaty hands from slipping off the bars, to offer some protection if I fall, and to wipe my nose/mouth on. I don't really need the extra cushioning and can ride comfortably without them, save for the aforementioned grip issue. The thing I HATE about them is how HOT I get after a long ride. Especially in Texas, with our warm, muggy, stagnant air, wearing gloves does not lend to good heat evacuation. I'd really like something light and airy, with good air flow. What do you suggest? Thanks!! :) |
Airuis Retro Mesh Half Finger Cycling Gloves, Medium, Natural
Nothing special about these, but that is the style that you want. My LBS always has them available. |
Specialized definitely makes gloves that breathe, at least somewhat (they come in various colors):

Nashbar Essential Glove $7.99 Ive been wearing them for years and like them alot. You get a interesting "mesh" suntan on the backs of your hands that make you look a little like a lizard.

I have Giordana Silverline gloves and they are great for a summer weather - light and breathable.
They also do not wear as quick as my other gloves (PI and castelli). http://www.bikesomewhere.com/bikesom...262/2421/12276 |

I've been using the nashbar kangaroo leather race gloves (I think they are about $7.99) and they keep me pretty cool. I'd recommend them even though nashbar is kinda lame.
