Well, since it sounds like you have bottom bracket issues, and you could've got a new one for under 400 bucks......

Only you can decide if it's worth it or not.

It may be a good price, it may not. What is the market for used bikes like in your location? The more important thing is whether you like how it rides.

Well rides well and all, smooth, just the sound thing I listed. Seems like a fixable problem and not a big deal
around my area aventon go for around $300 up. The owner wanted $300 originally but Finally he let me have it for $200 so it must have some good worth

No

If it's a done deal, then forget the price and enjoy the bike. After a few years, your cost per year will be negligible. It can go the other way too. I passed up a nice bike for 65 bucks, then changed my mind and turned around. By the time I got back, someone else has bought it.

Not a horrible price

when you can take it to a bike shop to look at the crank issue and of course take care of the recall

go out and ride it and enjoy it

It helps to ask before you purchase. Just sayin'.

Flip Flop Rider 05-28-19 06:13 AM

convince yourself that it was worth it, and feel good about it

This has got to be the biggest selling trick ever and everyone uses it and us consumers still get taken. Certain purchases such as jewelry, are commonly marked up thousands of dollars and then immediately marked down. A bike's worth is exactly the point where the seller is willing to sell it and the buyer is willing to buy it. What counts is if you love riding it.

You know the old saw about the price of a bike being what a willing buyer will pay a willing seller....

There are a couple of red flags with this bike. I always like to check the original MSRP before I would make an offer. The current price for a 2019 Cordoba fixed gear bike is $459. You get no warranty on a 5 year old used bike so that should be figured in to the price. Why did the seller repaint a 5 year old bike? Was it stolen? You are right about the non-descript parts. If you look up the specifications at the company website nearly all of them have the Aventon company name rather than a familiar name like Shimano or SRAM. Makes it impossible to compare to other bikes.

If you and the seller are happy, it was a good deal. :)
