Canadian Vintage Bicycle Show
A little bit show, a little but swap meet...
Many vintage CCMs, Schwinns and a few wooden rimmed bikes. Sorry, I've challenges posting big images, linking from FB/Instagram, and they cut off a big part of the image. I've got lots of images on FB (public, James Linn) https://scontent-yyz1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...70&oe=59CE544F Vintage track bike, trying pushing that gear. https://scontent-yyz1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...d0&oe=5A0A8057 Very similar to my second bike, though in much better shape. https://scontent-yyz1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...89&oe=59D23A64 One of the "newer" bikes, from a Canadian maker who became Gardin. https://scontent-yyz1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...6f&oe=5A0234EB Old bike license from my hometown. They were plastic by the time I was a rider. https://scontent-yyz1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...d6&oe=5A11D090 Just one of many old English bikes, many Raleighs. https://scontent-yyz1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...f7&oe=5A0C793C https://scontent-yyz1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...59&oe=5A0B50FA Can you believe 36 inch tires? |

Personally, I found it a better show than usual. There were more vendors and more "modern" stuff than shows before. Usually it's mostly CCM, 3 speeds and antique bikes. Picked up a nice Holdsworth frame, a set of Cyclone derailleurs, most of a 105 group, a Wright seat and a 600 Uniglide wheel.
I'll have to say it wasn't as well attended as some of the shows - not good for the vendors. Great day for it. |
After wading through all the CCM's and schwinns I found a nice Claud Butler Track frame.

I unfortunately had a family commitment and was not near enough to go. |

Another great CVBS for 2017. Perhaps a little less foot traffic due to the deferred date but the variety of bikes was good an the weather favourable. I would have loved to find a Triumph road bike or 3 speed but nary a one. I did pickup a gold Supercycle 3speed as a future project.

I grew up not far from there and some of my friends lived a few houses away, but it was my first time.
I wasn't really shopping, I have two projects already. But I did like the built up Holdsworth with the triple. The Claude Butler was sweet. If I had known so many were going I would have suggested we all meet for coffee before. |
