Strawberry ride report, finally.

Measly 10.7mi which is about as far as I go on a ride from home when just going for a ride.

Rides like a dream, smooth on smooth, very nice on rough and crappy, good on hard pack/turf/dirt single track (only about a mile and very little at speed).

Sorry, no pics, I was concerned about rain that was forecast and looked likely but still not yet, should have stayed out. ;)

Again, fantastic work from Dave with Andy's parts, piece's, history, tradition and blessing.

Bravo!
I'm glad it's everything you hoped it would be.

Tx Brent, me too.

I'm sure you know as well as I do that it's not always the case for a variety of reasons, I was never worried but you never know till the rubber meets the road. ;)

Some outdoor pics with the bike would be appreciated!

I agree with that! Need more photos! Very glad the bike is working well.

To be honest I was in no small part informed by your Strawberry build to ponder ditching a couple of rather expensive restorations of cool 1950s British bikes in order to have a custom frame built... It's something I've wanted for a while! Still just a thought.

Again, more photos, please!

I know, I know, need more sun, today's was used for the ride and didn't last.

There are quite a few in the main thread. ;)

We will keep until some decent weather graces your area, glad that its maiden voyage was a good one, short though it was. Any mileage in the sun and fresh air sounds good to me, still riding my turbo indoors. Kudos on the new ride.

Good to hear you're getting out on the sweet new bike of yours!!!

Cool! I've known Dave get's along well with other builders for a while. Some of the really good ones routinely send their just finished frames to Dave to get cut and S & S'd. When I go there, I get to see some gorgeous brand new frames from around the country.

Can't wait to see the bike. "Strawberry bikes forever."

Glad to know that the frame cashed in the check that the looks wrote. :)

That is the toughest part of this, I probably could have put 10 other projects on the road if I hadn't done this but you only have a few chances to do this so it got done.

I could very well end up being sorry I dropped a ton on this with the mess we are in now. Fortunately its almost paid for and I had most of the parts well beforehand so it was a little less painful getting this done.

Lots of pics in the main thread that I added and I 'll work on getting more, weather looks better this week so we'll see. ;)

:thumb: Me too, tx.

This is one of those things where you think its not a leap of faith but some it can and will be.

There were several things at the end of the frame build that kinked a bit, most was me but if I ever do this again (not likely) I will lockdown every single detail line by line so there are no or less surprises.

Very glad it went right and my vision panned out.

Awesome you're out and about enjoying it. Really quite a hoot when you get to ride or drive something brand spankin' new.

As for the money spent... its only fake anyways these days... as demonstrated by the Fed's. You could take your govt helicopter money and declare as a 501c jobbie, cuz they're the only one reaping it. Cheers

Another wimpy 11.6mi ride today, way nicer, sun was out all day, stopped and took a few pics, then tried a lot more when I got home, all pretty crappy but I tried.

Well Dave and Andy are pretty good friends anyway, Dave is the current President of the Oregon Bicycle Constructors Association that Andy started so they are regularly working on things together, definitely worked out for me on this.

Not sure when you might see it, no VC, no shows, no follow up or meetups now so who knows.

Not much chance of seeing each other out on the road, you ride like real rider, me not so much, never going to see me in the West hills or out by Daves.

We really should try to have a show, ride or something if/when this virus thing subsides but it may be quite a task. ;)
