75th Street Schwinn was formerly Severson's Schwinn Cyclery on Addison in Downers Grove.

We just found the Owners Manual for the 1969 Schwinn line that came with my dad's '69 Varsity. Severson's moved and became 75th St. Schwinn sometime between 73 (when he upgraded to a Paramount) and 86.

Hi, I used to call on it when I worked for GT bicycles back in the 90s. It was 75th street schwinn at the time. Why it went out of business I dont know.

Thanks

JJ

John, that's a beautiful bike, and another great video! One of these days I'd love to take a tour of your spectacular collection.

Hi, I see your in Earlville, I am posting today about a bike ride leaving from my house and having lunch in the bike mancave. Hopefully you can make it. Check out the post.

Thanks for posting! I too have a '78 Volare, and since mine wasn't in remotely the condition yours is I felt free to rebuild it with a fair amount of Suntour Cyclone and Superbe (though much of the original D-A is still in place). It's now my favorite rider, and if anything it's a lateral move from a Paramount rather than a step down. Really cool to see one in a pristine state. :thumb:

Sounds like it will be a great day. I did around 5 miles of the Fox River Trail on sunday. I started in Oswego but could only go 5 miles because the trail was flooded so I turned around and went back. It's a nice trail, at least the little I saw. Looking forward to the ride.

I used to have a Volare from that era, only mine was a Plymouth with a slant six. A different beast for sure.
