I originally thought that someone might have done of poor job running the internal wiring, but when I disconnected the cable, held it taught by hand and actuated the lever, it pulled smooth and clean, so I'm assuming friction... I suppose that the FD could be borked, too, but I'll give this a try, first.

I went into town, this morning, to have my stitches removed. Much more painful than I was expecting. Then I picked up some dog food and went to the pharmacy. As i was pulling out of the parking spot, I tapped a previously invisible moto, with a young woman aboard.
The paramedics came and pronounced no fractures. Then off we went to the police station and she to the dr. A mechanic came by and made a repair estimate. Eventually the young woman and her mother returned with the dr bill, and the chief gathered us all together to explain what's what. Then we had to wait for the police lawyer, to make it all official. Damage to the bike, plus dr. bill cost me US$90, and another $40 for the fine. They gave me half off the fine because I was cooperative and paid it promptly. I didn't have the money on me, and my wife wasn't answering, so two policemen drove me to the house to pick up the money.
After it was all over, I had the distinct feeling I'd been processed by Sherrif Taylor and Deputy Fife.

The chief lowered his mask to talk, zero social distancing, some took their masks off completely, inside the tiny station. I stayed as close to the window as I could, and even stepped out into the sun when that option presented itself. And yet we still have only one or two confirmed cases here. Hard to imagine why.
And, uptown in general, one would never guess that the country just entered critical stage. Or there was any threat at all. Unnerving.

Why would I lie? Yes, I was quite impressed with the mechanic and his estimate. The fork was bent, but he said he could straighten it. Both mirrors, headlight, brake and clutch? pedal replacement. And $10 labor. We live in Mayberry. The dr bill was $16

I guess if I had a Cérvelo I'd learn the alt code so I could spell it right on the computer too. This is the only one I'll ever know °

And now I know how the system works. Oh, and my paramedic, from the finger amputation, walked by and asked me how I was doing. And we chatted for a bit. A wonderful experience all around. It has left a smile on my face.

PTLDS. I've had Lyme two distinct times. Just last month all ten of my tested bands were positive, yet who can say whether it's from past infections or a new one. I vote "past" because of the absence of aches. But yet the fatigue is dramatic at times.

Probably my most accurate fatigue indicator has always been softball. If I enter the dugout in between innings and anxiously need to sit down yet most of my teammates are fine standing and moving about then I know for certain there's a problem. When the second inning feels like the eight inning I know there's a problem. Unfortunately covid has negated softball this year so it's hard to gauge how bad the fatigue is. It seems pretty good but I'm not sure. But hey, it's better than CV19.

Takes about five years to fully acclimate. Then you're good to go.
