1996 Marin Eldridge Grade suspension fork recomendation w/ canti brakes

Greetings,
I am looking for a NOS suspension fork for my 1996 Marin Eldridge Grade bike, The brakes are cantilever brakes. The suspension travel is an 80mm fork for this bike.
I read where someone suggested a 1997 Manitou Pro-C fork. Has anyone iinstalled a suspension for on their Eldgride and what fork did you use? The Headset is 1 1/8" threadless Dia-Tech alloy.
Thanks
Dave

If you crank the travel down to minimum, one of these shouldn't upset the geometry too radically: http://aebike.com/product/rockshox-t...k6076-qc30.htm Slap on a $15 Acera V-brake and a compatible brake lever if necessary.

If you read through the recent post's, this exact question was asked a few days ago http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...n-Fork-Upgrade

For an answer, the fork you have suggested is long OOP, just get a 80-100mm travel current fork, you will probably need discs, unless you can find a fork with rim brake mounts, if you go for rim brakes, ditch the Marin brakes they were useless in '96, as mechBgon any Shimano v-type brake will do.
