Lambie is a Beast

It's gotta be the stache.

This track is at 8500 feet of altitude and is crazy fast - no huge surprise that he took a few seconds off of his WR. In the women's flying 200, 3 riders went under Vogel's previous WR time, with Kelsey Mitchell riding a 10.154 for a new WR. and in the Men's, Nico Paul rode a effing 9.1, with Jair Tjon En Fa also riding a time that beat Pervis's previous WR (set at Aguascalientes, of course). and hell, Canada's men's TP team came within 2 seconds of a WR, too, and Georgia Simmerling came within .2 of a WR in the women's IP. absolutely crazy times... can't wait to see what happens in the kilo!

I'm a bit surprised the elevation isn't having a negative effect on performance. I've heard that generally, one can arrive at an elevation like that and perform well for a day or two before the effects kick in. But maybe some of them are conditioned for it.

Lambie spent the last month sleeping at 2500m (and training at 1600m).

From what I can remember from Tournant's and Hoy's record attempts for the Kilo, you basically have about 5-7 days before your body starts to really dial back because of the altitude. Ideally, you would try to attempt a record on day 3 or 4.

This is all amazing.

I’ve known Ashton for a long time, and this is just so much fun to watch. Aside from being a monster on the track, he is just a good guy – enjoys all aspects of cycling and helping other people to get on bikes and ride. No snobbery at all.
