What is this tool used for?

I was looking at a lot of bicycle tools for sale locally, and these were included. Either I don't remember, or I don't know, what these are used for. Please help me out on this one. Thanks, Mark

Looks to me like dropout alignment tools. Hard to get a sense of size without scale though (is that a chain tool peeking out in the left side?)

Agree, but I don't recognise that particular model. Maybe custom made? Reason for the color code eludes me.

They look like a couple of old chainstays, made for maybe determining length or clearance?

I agree with others that those tools look like dropout alignment tools probably made one-off by some that owns a lathe. This would be easy to confirm if a ruler was put along side the washers to measure their length.

Thank you for the feedback on these. I am happy to know that I am not the only one who could not identify these. And yes, that is a chain tool next to them. I had to copy and crop the marketplace listing photo so the photo is not great. I will do some more research.

We always love a good mystery here at C&V. :)
