Simonchini...

A guy came today and bought a set of wheels from me for his '82 Simoncini.
I was very impressed with the guy (John), and of course by his bike!

He was unfamiliar with this forum, so I told him I'd post some pics and e-mail him the link. I also told him how experienced and expert our members are, and that they would no doubt have some comments and/or background on this great-looking Italian bike.

Thanks!

Very nice! The Simoncini shop is still very much alive. I exchanged e-mails with Orlando a few years back about a frame I'd found, and he also had a stand a last year's edition of L'Eroica in Gaiole, as he's from Tuscany as well. Nice guy, who builds beautiful bikes.

Nice bike.

I think the hands in the air victory celebration on the head tube is great, That bike has the engraved version whereas I have the later decal version.

There are a few other Simoncini owners around these parts, here's my multi-coloured one, the Columbus Max fork I added recently.

Good catch.
I edited the text, but don't know how to correct the title.

I couldn’t keep it because it was too small.

This is a beautiful color combo...I am going to paint my worn out Raleigh International in a similar fashion. :D
Any chance to get a closeup of the tubes going into the head tube and the BBshell?
Best, Ben

Hi Ben, thanks, it gets lots of attention out on the road, I guess it really stands out amongst the more modern bikes riding around here in London. Some more pics for you as requested.
