TdF 2019 - Stage 8 SPOILER ALERT!
https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...9b8388c2cb.jpg
Tejay Van Garderen a no-starter for stage 8. Not really surprised as he looked bad after his crash early in stage 7. Bad luck, riders bunched early on, coming off a roundabout and everyone goes through a pinch in the road with the raised section in the centre. Often slow speed crashes like this are the ones that do the most damage. Stage 8 is a mid-mountain run of 200kms. with 4,000m of climbing through wine country. Nice weather, pretty scenery and hopefully exciting racing. |
Thomas de Gendt, Pinot, Alaphilippe +6sec, all the main GC contenders +26sec
Alaphilippe back in yellow. Great to see a combative rider like de Gendt getting the stage win. Very exciting finish and the locals were obviously very happy to see Alaphilippe attacking in the last 10kms. |
Geraint is showing amazing form! Crazy crash with Woods and Ineos team, Moscon's bike snapped in twain!
EF seriously needs to practice bike handling. |

Can Alaphilippe win the Tour? Can he do well in the big mountain stages next week?

Peter is a linebacker on a bicycle

^^ you only have to glance at that pic to see why one is the climber who can sprint and the other is the sprinter who can climb but isn't so easily pushed off a wheel.
Perhaps the Terry Tate of the peloton? |

Would like to see Alaphilippe hang in there and give it a go, but I'd imagine 19 and 20 will be awfully difficult for him. We shall see... Did you know Sagan has finished in the top 5 in six of the seven stages so far, excluding the TTT? That's absolutely AMAZING! Just hoping for no major issues for either one of them. |
