Schwinn Model?

Any clue what the model/year of this Schwinn might be?

Can you post a drive-side shot? Is there a four-digit number stamped on the head badge?

This is the only photo I have. That's why I can't figure it out. I was hoping someone that's a Schwinn maven might have a better idea.

It doesn't look like a Schwinn.

Except for the Schwinn decal on the downtube.

which might have been added by the seller to help sell the bike. It might be a Taiwan-made Schwinn model from the late 80s or early 90s. That was when Taiwan had finally learned how to make decent bikes. But this one appears to be bottom of the barrel for bike-shop-quality bikes, i.e. above department store bikes. And it looks to be in fairly bad condition. So if you're looking to buy a bike, my recommendation is to skip this one.

I will throw in a guess of 1981 World Sport. Componentry and frame look pretty similar. Red decals probably sunfaded and someone removed the turkey levers and put on downtube shifters.

Yep, I changed a lot of bikes to DT shifters over the years so it's quite probable that was done to this one.

Just the info I was looking for. Maybe an '82 (decals look closer) but I think you nailed it. Thanks so much!

Looks "78-ish" on this end.....

'82 had centerpull brakes, otherwise the same.
