'92 Specialized Allez
Finally finished this build-up.
Plans are to ride it for a while, then sell it due to no room at the inn! So, I'm curious as to what it may be worth, to the right buyer. Shimano 105 5500 groupset; drivetrain, hubs, brakes, and 9-sp Flight Deck brifters. Laprade seat post, SR stem, Winpista bars, Fizik wrap, and Octalink bottom bracket. Brooks B-17 saddle, new Sun rims, spokes, tires, tubes, cables, housing, bar tape, etc. 22 lbs., and rides like a dream! https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...190dc97f4a.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...b16b0c53c1.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c402ace136.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...de8cb450a1.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...9c46d7d56d.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...476b8eb080.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...e282c54142.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d02ee09478.jpg |
That looks like it's in very fine condition. (I'm only counting a 3 x 8 drivetrain from pictures). I'd start high. You can always come down in price. But, you can never ask for more. Try for $950.

Did you redo the lug lining and seat fluting yourself? It looks pleasant on the eye. Nice cycle!
|
Yes, outlined lugs and seat post fluting are my additions...I've been hanging out on C&V too long. I'm waiting on black toe straps, but am a little unsure about the yellow bottle holder.
I'm hoping to sell high since buying new parts, and accumulating groupset components individually, is not exactly fiscally responsible! |
Looks like you spent some time on this and it sure turned out nice. I’d love to see you get $950 but I just don’t think it’s there. $600 feeling closer to the hammer fall for me.
Edit: Gave a 2nd thought to the 8x3 STI. Could be more like $700. |

Thanks for the replies, and the value ranges. Not sure yet what my plans for it are.
Right now I am riding it...whenever the temperature is reasonable! |
UPDATE:
Sold it to a very nice younger guy from Richmond. I tossed in a brand new B-17 and my custom water bottle holders for $600. I hated to let it go, because it rode very well, plus I put a ton of time into it, but...with no room at the inn, tough decisions are made. It's his first road bike, but he looked confident once he got used to the toe clips & straps. A relative encouraged him to look at this bike, and both of them sound motivated to ride road bikes for fitness and enjoyment. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...725b313e3b.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...b6b820e06a.jpg |
That was a really good deal for $600.
