Hair in the wrong place.

Prepping for a century in Texas early May. I know from past long hot rides that hair in the seat contact area will be a major problem. Chamois Cream and such works pretty good but I sure would like a removal solution. Pretty sure normal cutting procedures will result in other problems. Any advice or ideas?
This will probably be my last century so I want it to be a great ride.

Electric Hair trimmer with #1 , i.e., 3mm blade.

Hmmm... the last thing you want is ingrown hair.

I don't use any creams, salves, or anything of the sort. I've started using padded shorts. :twitchy:

Personally I'd ignore the hair, and try to get enough saddle time that the buttocks won't be sore. Callouses?

Brazil Wax. Or Bro'zilian Waxing, as some folks joke. Painful but gets everything mowed to the roots. Never tried it myself but if I did I'd do it at least a week in advance of a long bike ride.

No comment  seriously though a good haircut in those areas makes a more comfortable ride.

64 YO here. On longer rides I've had the exact same issue and have lots of saddle time which doesn't lessen the problem. I decided one day to just shave the areas and see what happens. That was a few years ago. Had absolutely no problem with the shaving technique. My longest 1 day ride was 150 miles and was perfectly comfortable, at least the no hair part.....

Sounds like some manscaping is needed.

OP Here THANK - YOU I like getting advice from folks who do what they say! Now if I can just get DW to even talk about it.

Doesn't hair reduce friction? Isn't that the purpose?

I once read some advice about shifting in my saddle, shifting my shorts & occasionally getting out of the saddle while riding to help prevent soreness & other issues from hair follicles. so far, this advice has helped a lot. I also do some man-scaping down there with a hair trimmer. I don't "shave" I reduce the length of the hairs. that seems to help too. plus it provides other, unrelated features & benefits ... good luck with your ride!

Hair removal cream for my legs in summer.
That's as far as I go, but where your legs start could be up to you.

Well, 68.5yo here. 150 miler this past Tuesday, 154 miler yesterday, shorty 59 miler today. Due to prostate cancer surgery I've been clean shaved a number of times and have had no issues. What I do personally is just a trim job and let it go from there. Still use cycling shorts and creme.
