Shoe patch
Well I'm the guy who took this week for vacation. My rides have been cancelled due to rain.On the right hand side of the country we have April weather in May.Rain.
I have Pearl Izumi shoes.I have a slight problem,my right heel strikes the front crank sometimes.Over the years this adds up.I now wore the leather away from the strike point. So a patch is needed. No duct tape and I'm not cutting an old tube up into a patch.Ok now it's your turn. |
Treat yourself to some new shoes.
|
First, fix your shoe.... then fix the problem of striking the crank with a spacer.
|
Can you elaborate on how to fix with a spacer?Thank You!

I would talk to your LBS and inquire about spacers to move the pedals out a little. It's an easy thing to do. If you can change a pedal, you can do this modification too. |

Why does rain cancel a ride? Is your rain something other than water back there?
On your shoe problem, perhaps you can move the cleat laterally so that your foot is spaced a bit further from the crank. |
If the shoes are in good shape i would take it to a good shoe repair and get it fixed. Why the heck not, also as mentioned get the cause of the problem looked at.

Have you looked at the cleat on the right shoe? Maybe it just needs to be turned a little bit.

If your cleat is right, you might look at these.
