Bike pic mission game, if anyone wants to play.

Not sure if we have one of these anywhere on this site, but if not, here I go:

Might give people an excuse to get out in the winter. Of course some of you people don't have bad weather now..... But either way.

If anyone wants to play a bike riding and picture game with me, it goes like this, You pick a noteworthy thing to be in the pic along with your bike. And whoever posts the first pic adhering to that, gets to pick the next mission. Like if someone said, take a pic of your bike and a wood pole, I would post this pic. And now that I posted that pic, I get to choose the next mission. So I say a pic of your bike with a red house. And anyone else out there riding can post a pic of your bike and a red house anywhere in the pic. Then you say what you want next...... It should be something attainable for someone on a bike. Like saying the Grand Canyon and your bike might be hard for some of us. LOL. Although there may be some people from Arizona around here. But anyways.... So if you want to play along, lets see a pic of your bike and a red house.

Oh, and it probably needs to be a picture you go and get. Not one from your archives or in the past. That would sort of be like cheating. Although it's an honor system thing. I'm sure you guys and gals get the point.

It is helpful when someone has completed a mission and is stating a new mission, please outline the new mission in bold lettering. Thank you!!!!

All the neighborhoods around here don't allow red painted houses in their homeowner's association rules, so I can't participate. Yet. :D

I could cheat and take a picture of my bike in front of my house, but I won't.

Your seat looks tilted too far back.

I think he's entitled to angle it at any angle that annoys other that he wants. 16th amendment and all that.

Heh. Fixed it for me.

Thank you. I always like it when people defend other people getting razzed. I mean, it's my rear end.

If tilt in any more forward, I'm sliding forward. For some reason the nose on a lot of saddles is on an angle upward from the flat part. The way it is now, where your butt sits, is flat or parallel to the ground. That's the way I like it. I sit far enough back that the nose doesn't get in the way.

But really, is there seat angle police or something? I watch BMX vids and most of those guys have their seats on an angle backwards. I'm not sure why because I don't have a BMX bike but I'm guessing it's got something to with the fact that they're usually run as far down as they can to be out of the way when doing tricks while standing.

Anyways..... It's very comfy to me. Now the seat on my bike is flat overall, and the nose doesn't stick up in the air.

I wouldn't think a red house would be that out of the way for many people.... I might have to take a pic by one today.... maybe it was too hard.

indyfabz 11-04-19 03:08 PM

That's not the same bike, and we don't have many red houses here in the big city.

Milton Keynes 11-04-19 04:18 PM

It's not hard, I'm just at work and won't get off until 5 PM.

FiftySix 11-05-19 03:06 PM

The closest thing to red houses we have here are brick red houses. Below is a brick red house behind the wall of a gated community I rode behind today on a lunchtime ride. My neighborhood a few miles away is "gateless". :D

In hindsight, I should have taken my black bike to make the brick look more red. Ooops. :o

Let me know if this qualifies for the game. :innocent:

EDIT: If so, the next rider should show a pic of their bike in sight of a stream, creek, or bayou.

Woohooo!!! We got game. Next mission is good!!! NICE Pic and bike!!!!

I actually went and did one today too, seeins how people were saying it was not easy to find a red house. Glad you beat me to it. (I found that bike for free last night and besides being brush painted and rough, it all actually works. The fork and stem are loosey goosey though. And the rear hub is a bit loose too. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...ae2a8cca9f.jpg

Nice aerial view and no gators. :thumb:

So, the next mission has to have an antique auto in the photo?

flangehead 11-07-19 04:19 AM

Affirmative.

Yea, that's a good point. And isn't there a difference between antique and vintage...technically? Not sure how that plays out in the auto world.

There is debate, and differences in state laws, but for many car clubs and touring organizations, an antique car must be over 45 years old. There is a push right now to limit the moniker "antique" to vehicles built prior to 1970. Can we agree to that guideline for this game?

That's nothing, the fork is bent ;)

Windchills in the 20s tomorrow. Sub-freezing temps tomorrow night. Cold Saturday. Not taking the bike anywhere, much less taking photos of it.

This photo should meet the guidelines for car age, but not the guidelines for currency of the photo [Sep 2001, my bicycle in Schwetzingen, DE], posted only as an example of what contest members could submit.

Nice angle, took me a second to figure out what's going on there with the roof

MikeyMK 11-07-19 09:22 AM

Speedster! Definitely looks best as a thumbnail pic

I hear ya. It's my first winter biking and it's pretty fun. I'm trying to not let it stop me. But I don't go real far. But I went my normal 2 miles last night in a snowfall. I was not hindered much at all. My wife's cruiser was very well planted feeling. It was much easier if I rode in the path of car tracks though. Which there were some most of my ride.

But finding a car pre 1970 out in this weather on my normal route might be kind of tough. But possibly doable. We get people driving old trucks around a lot.
